rainy day

You won't catch us singing "rain, rain go away..."
By the time we got to the park it had stopped raining.
We had the park and puddles all to ourselves!
Vivian ready to dry off the slide.

Vivi fixin' up some water splashes.

Rolli lovin' the wet rocky steps.

Rolli found one of the few rain puddles.

Rainy days can be so much fun!
Especially in carhartts :)

goats, gardens, and germs...

Thanks to all of our military personal who serve or have served and made sacrifices for the country.  Because of them we are enjoying our Memorial Day weekend.
I like the poem "Freedom is Not Free" by Kelly Strong.
http://www.vietvet.org/freedom.htm

We started the weekend with a visit to the Woolbright's farm!  The kids saw goats, chickens, ducks, dogs, and rocks!  I only have one picture to share.  I had to put the camera away and pay attention to these two busy bodies instead of taking photos.
Vivian and Rolli liked the goats Muki and Camo.  They really liked eating the bread scraps faster than the goats could eat.  Rolli thought it was pretty funny when Muki would ram the fence for more food.
The birds ran away at first sight of the babies but the rocks didn't stand a chance.  They moved rocks from here to there (not very far), walked along the fence, and then cried when they got hungry.
Thanks Nancy for letting us visit!

On Sunday we headed outside for some yard work.
Marshall and Rolli planting corn.  Bella silently begging for a hike.

Rolli liked hanging out with Daddy, working like a man.

Rolli helped me plant the beans.

Little Vivian stayed inside napping.  Stupid germ bugs.
Ear infection.

Now we are enjoying a quiet Monday afternoon with Grandma Debie!

TGIF!

Me, Rolli, and Vivian had a full day!
And Marshall even got off work a little early after a long week.
We started the morning with a hike up Yaksum Canyon.  The sun was out but not too much.  The grass was green and the trail was mild.  Pleasant.

Vivian and Mommy.

Thank goodness Bella got out of the house too!

After the hike we drove directly to SnapDragon Coffee in Cashmere.
They have a nice little play area for the kids.
And coffee for me!
I even treated Rolli and Vivian to a breakfast cookie.

Vivian liked sitting in the 'hand' chair to eat her cookie.

Rolli liked sitting at the kids table to eat his cookie (and the chalk) while admiring the artwork.

Marshall took us out to dinner at the Wok-About.  A healthy, kid-friendly, and yummy restaurant.  Then we went to Walla Walla park to let the kids play.  They loved the big play-ground!  And then they spotted the geese.  I can't believe I didn't have the camera.  We will definitely be going back!

I can't help myself...

I should really be spending more time on my studies.
But I just can't resist sewing for our two little fashion wise babies.
Vivian wearing her new kitty top.
I was given this fabric for free.  My first thought was "eick, not my style."  But another look at it and I could picture Miss Mae-who-likes-her-chin-scratched wearing it.  Meow.

Rolli sporting his new cap.
I made this from one of my Dad's old dress shirts.
Perfect for keeping the sun off of a bald baby head.

A blurring side view because this guy has got things to do.

It is sooo, soooooo hard to take pictures of Rolli and Vivian.
They always seem to be moving!
I'm including pictures of the new dress and cap off of the models so that you have a better idea of what the items look like with clear edges.

park fun!

We spent another beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon at the park!  Grammy Kathy joined us and Aunt Lindsey meet up with us a little later.  It was a busy day at the park.  But that didn't slow Rolli and Vivian down too much.
Grammy, Rolli, and Vivian.
How wants to go down the slide?!

Rolli.
Ready for summer in his shorts and shades.

Vivian.
Busy with the bark.  It's all over her clothes and on her face.

Bella even got to come along!
Vivian and Rolli are trying to figure out the ball launcher.

Rolli and Bella.
Forget the launcher... Rolli just likes to throw the ball.

Rolli and Bella.
Still throwing the ball.  Bella just lays there.  She know he doesn't throw far.

Isn't this cute?
It looks like they might be pals.

Vivian and Daddy.
Vivi wants to go down the slide!

(sorry it's side ways.)

before it rains...

It was nearly necessary that the lawn get mowed before it rained today.
Marshall set the mower on high
and slowly cut the grass down just before the weather moved in.

I pushed the toy box next to the window and let the kids watch their Daddy work.

"Dad!"
"We can help too!"

"Can you still see him?"

These little faces are so cute looking out the window...
yelling at the cars that drive by.

All done!  Time for a break/nap.

maternity clothes

Do you ever wonder what I did with all of my maternity clothes?
Some of them I gave away.  Some I still wear (I have no shame).
And the rest Vivian wears!
Vivian modeling her new outfit made out of three of my old maternity items.
All that 'big enough for twins' cloth made a few super cute baby girl outfits.

I love these colors on her.
These hot-pink leggings were made from one of my favorite tank tops.
Vivi being so cute in her girly outfit.

Vivian and Rolli.

My favorite kids.

fun run!

The Nurse's FUN run/walk 5k was yesterday.

Despite the rainy weather my Aunts, Uncle, and cousins drove from Omak to participate.  Thanks for joining us!  I love a good Saturday morning jog and it's that much better with good company!  The babies slept through most of the race.  They didn't complain once about being paraded around in the rain.  And I even placed first for my age group/gender!  Now I'm looking forward to the day when Rolli and Vivian run with their own race numbers!

fresh air dinning

It was warm enough last evening to join the fish on the patio!

Vivian and Rolli eating dinner outside.

Our pale skinny babies are no longer pale nor skinny.  I'm sure they will be getting lots of sunshine and fresh food this summer!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!!!!
to all of those beautiful mothers out there...
"The most important thing she'd learned over the years was that there was no way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one."  Jill Churchill
That is one of my favorite quotes about mothers.
Vivian and Rolli made me Mother's Day gifts at daycare.  (I'm smiling, sweet babies)

I've been enjoying a few of my favorite things this morning.

Breakfast with this handsome man.
Excuse the fact that he later vomited on me while we were snuggling.

Smelling (err, eating) the flowers with Miss Sunshine Mae.

Hittin' the pavement in my running shoes.

Planting the happy Gerbera Daisies from Marshall.

Enjoying my coffee on the patio while the babies nap and the clothes dry in the sun.

Did you notice the heart shape in my coffee?  I used to avoid those kinds of cheesy heart things until I, myself, became a mother.  Now I put hearts on everything!  I can not explain.
