and Rialto Beach too!

This is the last beach stop for our vacation.
Rialto Beach.
Endless ocean rocks and drift wood!

Countless rocks = heaven for Rolli

Vivian loaded her bucket so full of rocks that it was too heavy to carry.

Marshall taking a moment to relax.

After collecting more rocks than they needed,
Rolli and Vivian got busy climbing, exploring...

and even crawling under the drift wood.

Out the other side.

"C'mon Rolli."
Rolli didn't like the crawling under route.

But he sure did like the climbing and jumping route!

All that exploring made our tummies grumbly.

Back in LaPush watching the boats while we wait for dinner.

That is it from LaPush.
Thank you Marshall for taking the time off!

PS  I still have pictures from our pit stop at the Reptile Zoo on our way home.

Third Beach

Another day, another beach!
We hiked the mile or so into Third Beach just in time for low tide.
Vivian and Mommy.
Such an easy-peasy hike in flip-flops with my favorite side kick.

Rolli and Daddy.
We can always count on this little guy for our minute-by-minute commentary.

I'm not going to lie...
These weren't the low tide tide pools that I was expecting.
Small and not much to them.
But they were perfect for 2 year old attention spans.

"Oooh."

"It's okay.  You can touch them."

"Touch this?, Mom?"

Of course Rolli has gravitated to another rock.

"Whoa!"
"Look at Daddy!"

That's it for the beach.
We must hike back before high tide and nap time.
And it was a slooooow hike.
Rolli and Vivian motored on their own legs...
exploring EVERYthing on the way.

A baby banana slug.

Lots of really tall trees.

And something else cool.

Vivian and Rolli
Super hikers, super kids.

Evening on the Beach.

With so little vacation time we spent as much of it as possible on the beach...
After nap time our beach day turned into evening.
Fully enjoying the sand.

If you are going to play in the sand you must experience it head-to-toe.

Our family vacation picture.
Good times :)

Through and through this kid is a boy.

The best part about LaPush's First Beach is that you can legally have a campfire!

We cooked up some yummy (lightly sanded) hobo dinners on our beach fire.

Rolli and Vivian choose to skip are delicious campfire dinner
and instead they used all five senses to complete their sand experience.

...tasting...

...tasting...

Yes, he is for reals.

Goodnight Beach!

Thanks for the fabulous day!

Our first day on the beach!

After a nice night's sleep in our little cozy/basic hotel room we woke up ready for coffee.
And when you're on vacation there is nothing better than
sippin' a fresh cup of caffeine on a beach front deck
with the warm sea breeze tickling your nose.
My little sonshine, just like his Daddy.

Me and my mini-me :)

Off to the beach!!

Our 'beach front' hotel was actually about a block off of the beach.
A short walk.

This kid is totally ready for the sand!

Daddy and Rolli racing the waves.

These two handsome beach goers have stolen my heart.

This is my FAVorite picture!

Daddy and Vivian.

Wholly-molly!
Doesn't this look like the best, most giant piece of drift wood out there?!

Rolli, Mommy and Vivian.
You bet we climbed to the top!

Mr Jumping Rolli on his descent.

"Hold on Vivian!"

"Aaah!  Run!"

"Wait, wait..."
This is such a sweet sight for my eyes.

Settling down to dig.

A new camera! aaannd Our first ever Family Summer Vacation!!!

Finally!
Between cleaning up from our vacation, working and sending Marshall off on another assignment
I've been too busy to figure out the blog 'issues' until now.
And guess what the problem was?!
...The New Camera!!
Yep, our (Marshall's) new camera has too many pixels for my little free blog.
I was so excited to post our fantastically clear high pixel photos of our
First Ever Summer Family Vacation
...but...
I had to downsize the pixels in order to even post them.
Don't be disappointed, the pictures (and story) are still the best :)

Rolli and Vivian on the ferry with Seattle in the background.
This is the first picture Marshall took with the new camera.
Rolli is just checking things out and Vivian is upset that Mommy left her sight.

Rolli on the ferry.

Rolli and Daddy watching the 'BIG' boats during our ferry crossing.

It took us nearly ALL day to get to La Push.
And it was so beautiful when we finally arrived!

Our first La Push beach sunset.
After our long car ride Rolli and Vivian went crazy in the sand!

More pictures to come...

Train Ride!!

Let me tell you about ALL of the FUN, fun things to do in the summer!
Especially when you have busy kiddos and 8 days off!!
...I'll start with today...

Wenatchee just so happens to be home of the Riverfront Railway
featuring a miniature train with room for a handful of kids and a few adults.
So who wants to go on a train ride?!
Rolli, Vivian and Jaxon with their boarding passes.
Very official.

Here comes the train!

"All aboard!"

Of course Vivian got dibs on Mommy's lap.

"Look at me!"
"Big TRAIN!"

Now back to Pear-A-Dise Station.

Totally worth $2 tickets!
Plus we got to hang-out with the nicest kid around and his twin brothers :)
