Sunday best at the river

Who else dresses their kids in Sunday best to go play down at the river?
Rolli and Vivian sure looked cute!... but what was I thinking?!
My two little explorers got dirty right away.
Vivian, Rolli, Bella, and Daddy cooling off.

Vivian watching Bella fetch.

Daddy and Rolli watching the boats.

Rolli being a boy.

Daddy and Vivian.

Ahh, Bella!
Shaking cold, dirty water all over Vivian.

Happy to be playing in the sand!

Vivian.

So many things for a little boy to point at.

Still watching the loud boats.

Next time we take Bella to the river we are wearing our play clothes.

Helibase

All of us (Grandpa Roger, Grammie Kathy, Aunt Lindsey, Miles, Rolli, Vivian and me too)
visited Marshall at the Helibase in Leavenworth today!
The Rappel ship (Bell 205), Daddy, Rolli, and Vivian.

Miles, Vivian, and Rolli
Playin' in the helicopter.
Lucky cousins!

Rolli found thousands of dirt piles in the field.

hat

Rolli has a new hat!
Mr. Handsome

These used to be a nice pair of shorts...
(but not the right size for me)
until I got ahold of them with my sewing scissors...
and I made a hat for Rolli!

Using an old pair of shorts for the material gave the hat a 'worn' look.
I like it.

This is the second hat that I've made using this
pattern.  Free and easy.

the back.

the side.

"Thanks for the new hat Mom!"

the top.
Rolli is such a cute boy... anyway you look at him.

Vivian put Rolli's hat on all by herself.
She is so funny, always wearing caps backwards.

Vivian wearing her way too small hat.
Guess I should make Little Sweet Pea a new hat too.

back in the backyard!

It is good to have Rolli and Vivian back home in the backyard!
We've been enjoying the nice summer evenings outside this week.
Grandma Debie and Grandpa Rollin stopped by today.
They just couldn't stay away (even though the twins were just at their house for 2 weeks)

Cutie-pa-tootie Vivian wearing her bikini!

"Thanks for the snacks Grandma!"

"Haalla if uz got a belly!"

She knows that she is cute.

Grandpa Rollin and Rolli.

The twins were so excited to see Grandma and Grandpa drive up to the house.
They sure were spoiled ROTTEN for those 2 weeks!

Rolli preparing to jump of the ledge.
He is so dramatic about it.

and JUMP!
All that hype and he doesn't even get any air.

My little garden grazers have moved on to the green tomatoes and carrots.

I love my babies :)

Grandma & Grandpa's house!!

Rolli and Vivian have been at Grandma and Grandpa's house for 2 weeks!
There is so much to do and so many cousins to play with!
Grandpa's swing set is perfect for the 3 little ones.

Madison is always happy in the swing!

My little Sweet Pea playing nicely on the swing set.

Rolli has found a new best friend to share his snacks with.

The 4 older cousins are getting some exercise after dinner.

Uncle Marshall, Aunt Hannah, Hannah Anne, Rachel, Mason, Caleb, and Bella.
Hiking behind the house.

Careful!  It sure is steep!

All of the kids kept busy exploring around!
Fun times for the cousins!

refashion

Before Katie B left for school she drastically downsized her closet to the benefit of
the girls night tribe.
Katie has style... it was wise of her to remove this item from her wardrobe.
Not something that I would wear but I love the feel of the fabric.

With a little cut here and there, some contrast stitching, and new buttons....
that dress became...

This dress!

(front)
Vivian's new dress!
I think it will be perfect for those East Coast beach barbecues we'll never go to.

(back)
I love the fine pin-stripping with the deep-red buttons.

Now Vivian just needs to come home so that I can try it on her.

sweet cousins

Vivian and Madison are so cute together!
Vivian and Madison looking out the window together.

The girls modeling the matching dresses that Grandma Debie bought them.
I took this picture right before Vivian ate the flower and then puked it all up.  Typical.
